Join us in Worship at Old Pine where we praise God and delve into the sacred story. We gather at the font and table and seek to serve our neighbor.
Please join us on Saturday, September 20th at 1:30pm for the second in the Old Pine Jazz Revival Series. Warren Cooper and the Old Pine Sacred Jazz Ensemble will provide the music and the discussion will feature Rev. Bruce Reyes-Chow, Moderator of the 218th PCUSA General Assembly. We hope you can attend this engaging afternoon of learning and music. Parking is available in our parking lot on 5th Street between Lombard and Pine and on the south side of Pine Street between 3rd and 5th (please getting a parking sign to put in your windshield at the church).
This program is produced in partnership with the Presbyterian Historical Society and the Presbytery of Philadelphia.
One of the most important aspects of our Christian faith is the mission work we perform. Jesus specifically calls us to "feed the hungry, clothe the naked, welcome the stranger, visit those who are in prison."
But how do we do that? What exactly is the imperative to help others and what should our motivation be? Should we give to every person who asks for money in the street? Should we donate to every charity that asks? What about our careers? What about the way we budget our finances? What about the environment?
To help us explore these challenging questions, Pastor Ferris will be teaching an adult education class on Mission, beginning on Sunday, Sept. 21st after the morning worship service and continuing on the 3rd Sunday of every month. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn and discuss ideas about mission in both our personal lives and our life as a congregation. We hope you'll join us!
