Early Morning Bible Study

An Opportunity for Spiritual Conversation

Each meeting we gather, read, and discuss a chapter of the book of Acts—the story of the Holy Spirit shaping the early Church, from formless beginnings into the body of Christ. All are welcome to come and participate. Currently, we're reading through the journeys of Paul and his entourage, and so we'll also be reading the letters he wrote to the churches he visited along the way. At the next series of gatherings, we'll read from the book of Philippians.

Three Faiths, One God:
Judaism, Christianity, Islam

Wednesday, July 16, 6:30–9:00pm, Old St. Joseph's Catholic Church – "Cities of Light". This film focuses on the “Golden Age of Spain”, a period of history in Spain when Muslim, Christian and Jewish people lived, thrived, and flourished together in one harmonious culture. Bring supper and eat together at 6:30. Film starts at 7:00pm.

Wednesday, August 13, 7:00pm, Old Pine Church - The Faith Club, by Ranya Idliby, Suzanne Oliver, Priscilla Warner. This book recounts the experiences of three mothers, one Christian, one Muslim, and one Jewish, who came together as they struggled with the meaning and explanation of 9/11. What began as a project to write a book for children became a year-long journey of discovery and mutual respect and understanding among them. Read the book at your leisure over the summer then join us for a discussion.
